Winter grounds

This  is my 3rd blog post in a series of home decor. Over the weekend i decorated and set up this cute little house by Culprit, and i spent the week decorating it: Interior Culprit and setting it all up: Exterior Culprit, but today i bring you something different, I´ve already blogged the inside of the house, the outside of the house, so i figured why not blog the landscape, and surrounding grounds? So this is what i bring you guys today.

Let´s star with what always comes first, the ground itself, i admit ground textures as not always that visible, and i always use a mix myself, here i´m using Izzie’s new winter ground textures, I had already bought her Autumn ground textures and was so happy with them i didn´t think twice when i saw she had released a new winter pack, i really love her snow, and i´m using two of her textures here.

Also a new release are the white leafed trees in mesh from Garden of Dreams, another one of my favourite shops, these are copy and mod and come in 3 different sizes and several versions, as barren for example, for the barren snowy trees i picked up another shop tho, Botanical, these are HUD controlled, meaning i can change their leafy texture in second for a whole sim, which makes my landscaping effort a lot easier, they also come with falling leafs particles if you wish so, I´ve never personally bothered, deleting their scripts, because i´ve had no lag issues whatsoever with these since i bought the Linden tree pack over a year ago, and did i mention the LI is pretty small? Only thing i find sad is that they are no mod, which is always useful for trees.

Another shop i raid frequently is Hearth Botanicals, i love their snow drifts and also their ground textures, from there and for this area i picked only a few things, the lovely Autumn coloured, snowy trees, that help break of a bit from all the white, and all the frosted grass and tulips you see scattered around the grounds, when i first saw these i went sort of hmm, but i tried it i was sold, i love it and it helps fill out bigger empty spaces, that so often happen in snowy places.

Last but certainly not least I have a few things from Organica also another one of my favourite shops, not only for trees, but mostly for different landscaping elements, rock, roads… but my new favourite Organica product are those cliffs you see in the picture, they are mesh, not only do they have a low LI but they are easily modifiable without any huge increase on the LI, and when i say mod, i mean perfectly mod, not just for resizing, but also for texturing, i applied at the top the same textures i was using on the sim grounds, and that sure made me a happy kitten.

The bridge you see briefly on the first picture is also another Culprit release, now if only i had time to do an outdoor furniture post? Let´s see if that´s possible soon, until then i say goodbye and hope you all enjoy the rest of your week.

Exterior Culprit

If you´ve been following my blog, you´ve already seen the interior of this house it´s the latest release from Culprit available now. L

ike i blogged yesterday i spend the weekend decorating and landscaping around it (check my blog post from yesterday for details: Interior Culprit), the picture is from the prototype i was sent over by Eku, when i got home last friday, and right away i fell in love with this adorable little cottage.

It´s mesh and has a total of 37 LI at the size it comes in, that alone made me wow, it´s also a full piece with working door, the design is simple (and the texturing is amazingly well done and detailed) and perfectly functional for Second Life, it reminds me a lot of my first ever SL house, a small more mediterranean little house, that was a mod from a freebie prefab i spent hours on, from aligning textures, to decorating it under a super low prim budget.

This house like my old one has a big empty area, which i separated into living room kitchen and a small upstairs area, and also includes the front porch, perfect for some vases with flowers, or a porch swing, and the little backdoor open sunroom, that in my case i used has a small pottery/gardening area. I also added a small greenhouse also from Culprit to the side of it and a few lawn chairs, i need a few more outdoor furniture soon.

Land Impact these days is as important as it always was, thru my 5 SL years i´ve seen how building evolved, from prim only builds to sculpties, and to the advent of mesh that was just taking it´s first steps about a year ago, SL changed, and it improved not in baby steps but in huge amazing leaps, I still remember when a small plot could barely hold anything, these days even with LL´s Linden homes, so much can be done.

So my hat off to all of the amazing SL creators, pushing it harder for everyone in quality and detail, but most importantly, usability, what good is a house if you can´t turn it into a home?

Tomorrow i´ll bring more pictures, this time landscaping ones, featuring all vegetation and building elements used, including ground textures, and i finally get to blog some of my favourite shops and the ones i spend more time at, until them i hope everyone have a lovely day, i´ll just sit here by the fire enjoying my new home.

Interior Culprit

I rarely do house and decor posts, for several reasons, first ´m not used to them, so i´m always insecure about my pictures, and second it takes a lot of time, placing everything, making sure it fits all together, adjusting all items so nothing is floating about, and making sure you gave your space the right mood.

I also sometimes fail desperately at doing it, you need the proper mood, and items to do it also, but i spent all weekend decorating a prototype of a future release, that i will bring you all in more detail probably tomorrow, I´ll so do shortly after another blog post from my weekend landscaping, since i don´t mention house stuff so often i hope it´s not that bad.

But today i bring you furniture and decor, every single piece in these pictures are from one shop, Culprit, i´ve mentioned before i´d know Eku, her partner Yure and Humps from SLUniverse, where we are all semi regular posters, some years ago Eku imed me inworld out of the blue, and i can´t even remember what the subject was to be honest, truth is we´ve become friends since that day, earlier this year we found out about her serious health issues and a few friends got together and organized a fundraiser, if you follow my blog you probably heard about Unhinged already if now you can read more about it here: A love letter for Eku ❤, and i even featured Culprit before, in my shops that i like blog posts, (btw i must do a few more of those soon, it´s been a long time since my last): Who´s the Culprit?, when the store opened.

But it´s been a long time since i mentioned their awesome furniture, since this weekend Eku dropped me an im to ask my opinion on a new project, the cottage you see furnitured here, i decided it was perfect for my place, and also to showcase all the furniture at their shop, well at least part of it.

So it was a very busy weekend, not only the decorating the inside of the house, but also all the landscaping around it, such a busy weekend i had to cut it down in 3 blog posts, today i feaature furniture, tomorrow landscaping elements, and after the lovely small cottage itself.

I divided the inside of the house in four different areas, you have the kitchen, that fits perfectly under the sleeping area, the living room/lounging area, the small upper area for confy sleeping and random things and finally the small sunroom that is partially open, making it perfect to either do like i do which is to pile up random bits and bobs, or simply place on it a rocking chair for the warmer summer nites,.

Most of the furniture is mesh, with a few older sculpted items in between, making it all a mix and max of eclectic and sometimes cluttered proportions, which is just my thing.

Well i hope you enjoy my first proper post on decor, i hope there will be more soon, since the holidays are near and we all need christmas decor.

I hope everyone has a wonderful start of the week, may it not be so heavy as mondays usually are, and see you all tomorrow, with more House and Garden goodies.
