Unhinged

You all know i love events, i love having all of my favourite designers in one place, like a huge Fair or Carnival, i even love more themed events, i even like more events with a common cause or purpose, be it just thru their theme, or for a specifc thing, like  charity.

But i like event better when i can help out my friends, or simply work with them, I´ve known Eku Zhong of Culprit for a few years, we met thru SLU and since the day i added her to my friends list my life got a little richer, mostly richer with laughs and wise advise, because she is the kind of person who will make you smile no matter how shitty your day is, and now i have a chance to help out a little in making Eku smile, Nephilaine Portagonist explains the whole situation here better than i ever could on this post: A love letter for Eku ❤ but basically and in summary Eku needs to have surgery to the skull that protects that amazing little and quick brain of hers, and this is when friends gather to help and try to make the whole situation affordable for Eku and her partner Yure.

Most of us had no idea of how serious the situation even was to be honest, her humour and joy for life never let it show all the hardships she has to go thru on a daily basis, but now we know and Unhinged is born and it´s a month lasting event with a skull theme/inspiration, starting on November 15th through December 15th, and it´s a gatcha Fair with a lot of pretty awesome stores participating.

Now how am i helping? I did so far two poster pics, that you can see further down and am along with Sonya over at Astalianda coordinating bloggers (remember to fill in this application if you would like to join us), and also helping out with promoting in general. Another thing i´m planning is sponsoring the event myself probably with a photo contest for more info on that you can follow out Flickr Group, or just check for news on the Unhinged blog, my personal blog here or the SLU thread about it.

In the meanwhile i´ll be here helping out with anything needed, and wearing some pretty stuff from my favourite big events going on at the moment: Cinema and The Costume Ball.

Money for nothing

It´s what scammers want, and today me and many others stumbled into one, let me tell this story from the start, i woke up this morning to a wave of emails, as i got to the kitchen and my phone caught the wi-fi signal, the bips would not end, still kinda of blurry-eyed and dazed from sleep i see a flood of emails in my inbox, flickr messages, SLU pms a lot more than the usual activity.

My friends had also been on fire on Skype, and as soon as i managed to sit down and actually look at the content, my eyes rolled, apparently someone with a Deviant Art account had stolen pictures from Flickr from a lot of SL bloggers and filled a gallery with them, including two pictures of mine, the ones you can see on the pictures i´m holding, between those who had their pics stolen are: my dear friend Sonya from Astalianda,  and a lot of pictures from Strawberry Singh, Gogo from Juicy Bomb and Whiskey Monday from Whiskey Shots only to mention a few, but the worse is yet to come not only was this DA account who is also a SL resident by the name of bekidarling was passing other residents pictures as her own she was also trying to sell prints of them on Deviant Art, trying to make money of other people’s work, she was also claiming she was the creator of everything in the picture.

She also claimed the credits for every item in those pics, undermining and insulting every creator showcased in them and all the hours of hard work that go into building in SL.

When i got to work and finally could look at her page all the pictures where already taken down by her, after the massive amount of comments and links to the originals, today i learned a big lesson, don´t mess with the SL community, if we find you are stealing from any of us, be it a blogger or a creator, we will talk about it, on plurk, on forums, by email, by skype, we have each other´s backs.

A big hug and thank you for all of those who sent me a message, for all of those who spread the word, for all of those who will not let pass when someone´s hard work and time is stolen by scammers, looking for a quick buck, today i mostly wanna say thank you SL and thank you my friends.

I would also like to send a huge hug to all my blogger friends who had their work stolen, worth hours and hours spent showing the very best of SL, most as hobbie done by love to the platform and the community itself.

Make me a star

This blog post is a simple look, my idea for it was totally different tho, and while mixing and matching i really liked this mix of colours, and  it´s a mix of older COLLABOR88 things with one of Volstead´s dresses for Cinema.

I haven´t talked much about Volstead here yet, it´s one of my favourite clothing brands, and quite recent, with a style focused on the 20´s, but with amazing pieces that work well even today, what i do like a lot about their dresses, is the clever use of transparency on the top layers, and how all the pieces from different colours and outfits can be mixed with others, a versatility is a must, as well as pretty cute dresses that are this original.

I know i´m late again, this post should have come out at least a week and half ago, but rl and having a flu and blogging more Cinema previews over at The Hottie Cooterati Experience.

And today´s blog post is about Cinema, an amazing mesh build by Kaz Nayar of Pilot and Isla Gealach of Cheeky Pea, a huge event that lasts until the 31st and has more shops with exclusive items then i could ever count. These pics were taken shortly after the event opened for bloggers, and the first thing i did was grab all the food, cause honestly i love eating when watching a film.

I also do a lot more annoying things while watching a film, I talk to whomever is next to me, i fidget on my seat all the time, i laugh to loud, i cry at all the sad and happy bits, i try to touch stuff while watching 3D films, and i make all sorts of weird noises including screaming during scary flicks. Yep i´m the worst kind of person to sit next to luckily the Fennux didn´t mind at all.

I do like a casual and comfy look for a nite out at the Cinema and that´s why i picked this simple and cute mix of sweat pants from Cracked Mirror, and the Zombie print is just perfect for  the occasion, don´t you think?

It´s getting colder

It sure is here and i´m in a mood for sweaters, and totally in love with this one by Erratic (not sure if the name is perfectly right i´ve seen it spelled different ways, but you can follow either the event or store slurl on my credits) available at this month´s FaMESHed in a bunch of colours and patterns. Also from FaMESHed is this super cute short hair from [ monso ] which made me go must buy, since i´m such a fan of short hairs, which we don´t see enough. Not only are they cute, but also practical, and perfect to show of earings, which i didn´t do here because i was going for a simpler look.

And for that i went back to my usual everyday skin which i have missed a lot, with some extra freckles this time, i´m a huge Mynerva fan and Mock´s freckles are just the perfect amount for me on this skin. And one of my favourite boots to finish of the outfit, I´ve had these for over a year now, and every now and then i wear them, i simply adore this TonkTastic  model because i had ones just like these as a teen and wore them all the time to school.

But enough with my old time favourites, i also have some new stuff to show of, and those are the new capris release from Bilo, in perfect colours for winter and Fall, either with or without some wool stockings, boots sneakers or even heels for a more sophisticated look, (actually i do have a set just like these, Winter/Fall Capris with earthy tones and a simple pattern that will easily mix and match with anything.

Also new and really cute not to mention a bargain, is the bench from Cheeky Pea, with several individual sits, couple poses and a friends sitting chatting also, only for 50L and part of Fifty Linden Friday, and still available at the shop, i love it when creators leave the FLF item out during the week, since Fridays are completely crazy for me, and i can just drop in during the week when i have more time, and i would honestly be sad if i had missed this bench, I´m a huge Cheeky Pea fan, and the bench is a bargain, have you guys checked their Collabor88, items?

Collaborate

As i said on my last blog post i´ve been away and now on return i find myself spinning on all the new and regular events, regular like Zodiac which i blogged over the weekend and you can find at the official Hottie Cooterati Experience blog here, and new because Cinema is almost here and i will start soon showing you guys some previews, while we anxiously await the doors opening.

In the meanwhile another regular event just opened it´s doors yesterday, and as usual and from what i have seen at Seraphim and the multiple plurks by the creators, a lot of new and discounted goodies like every month, with a mix of dashing bright colours and quite unique items, sadly i´ve yet to get to the event, and i doubt i will be able in the next couple of days, with all the traffic, but i already have a pretty long mental shopping list.

So today i bring you some of last months items that should be available at the shops own stores, and i also bring you guys new shoes, or better new boots, these from one of my favourite brands, lassitude & ennui, that where specially made for this last edition of L’accessoires, that ended sadly yesterday but should be available at the shop soon.

Not a breeze that day

This pic was taken sometime ago, but i only had a chance to blog it now, it feels like an official goodbye to summer pic, a reminder of how beautiful SL can be even at it´s simplest form, yes i´m missing SL, i´m missing taking pics and being up to date in all the events and happenings, so expect me back again soon, since next month is filled of regular events and also new ones, and i missed a lot of events during the past month.

I don´t feel guilty at all tho, i think we all sometimes need a little break from what we do as hobbie, if not just to rest but to come back and enjoy it even more.
