Winter grounds

Standard

This  is my 3rd blog post in a series of home decor. Over the weekend i decorated and set up this cute little house by Culprit, and i spent the week decorating it: Interior Culprit and setting it all up: Exterior Culprit, but today i bring you something different, I´ve already blogged the inside of the house, the outside of the house, so i figured why not blog the landscape, and surrounding grounds? So this is what i bring you guys today.

Let´s star with what always comes first, the ground itself, i admit ground textures as not always that visible, and i always use a mix myself, here i´m using Izzie’s new winter ground textures, I had already bought her Autumn ground textures and was so happy with them i didn´t think twice when i saw she had released a new winter pack, i really love her snow, and i´m using two of her textures here.

Also a new release are the white leafed trees in mesh from Garden of Dreams, another one of my favourite shops, these are copy and mod and come in 3 different sizes and several versions, as barren for example, for the barren snowy trees i picked up another shop tho, Botanical, these are HUD controlled, meaning i can change their leafy texture in second for a whole sim, which makes my landscaping effort a lot easier, they also come with falling leafs particles if you wish so, I´ve never personally bothered, deleting their scripts, because i´ve had no lag issues whatsoever with these since i bought the Linden tree pack over a year ago, and did i mention the LI is pretty small? Only thing i find sad is that they are no mod, which is always useful for trees.

Another shop i raid frequently is Hearth Botanicals, i love their snow drifts and also their ground textures, from there and for this area i picked only a few things, the lovely Autumn coloured, snowy trees, that help break of a bit from all the white, and all the frosted grass and tulips you see scattered around the grounds, when i first saw these i went sort of hmm, but i tried it i was sold, i love it and it helps fill out bigger empty spaces, that so often happen in snowy places.

Last but certainly not least I have a few things from Organica also another one of my favourite shops, not only for trees, but mostly for different landscaping elements, rock, roads… but my new favourite Organica product are those cliffs you see in the picture, they are mesh, not only do they have a low LI but they are easily modifiable without any huge increase on the LI, and when i say mod, i mean perfectly mod, not just for resizing, but also for texturing, i applied at the top the same textures i was using on the sim grounds, and that sure made me a happy kitten.

The bridge you see briefly on the first picture is also another Culprit release, now if only i had time to do an outdoor furniture post? Let´s see if that´s possible soon, until then i say goodbye and hope you all enjoy the rest of your week.

  1. Such beautiful landscaping! Wonderful post.
I was wondering who makes Hearth Botanicals? I have not heard of them and they don’t seem to come up on search. (psst.. your link for them here goes to Garden Of Dreams.)

    • Hi Dizzy thank you very much for commenting and letting me know of my mistake with the SLurl, it should be fixed now, at least it didn´t take you to my platform like last time i had a wrong SLurl. I´m sometimes nooby with the copy paste of links.
